Swirling Afro soul from Matata -- with lots of African rhythms and heavy percussion laced with some trippy elements from the psychedelic scenes in the US and UK! Matata arrived in London, via their native Kenya in the early 70s -- and rather seamlessly blended elements of soul, and on this record, touches of psychedelia into the African groove. There is a really jammy feel to the record, with much more interplay with keyboards and guitars than the more JBs-derived soul & funk that would take the driver's seat on later records.
