As explained in a different HEMS episode, the MAIN reason is because you never know if they jumped, fell or were pushed off.
Also, many suicidal people feel that that no one cares about them / there dieing wouldn't affect anyone, so having someone save you can be quite an awakening experience that people DO actually care and your life does affect others, so often can give them a needed incentive to keep going rather than give up.

Did the doc manage to do an RSI, UNDERNEATH the train????
He appears to already be intubated when they pull him out from under the train...
If he was, that is unbelieeeeevable. awesome work.

Here here agreed, Its unclear whether he was RSi'ed or just intubated, either way it just shows you the skill involved. Its like trying to do your ironing whist in your washing machine. Very tricky, a good team effort was the key thing here.
