  • I heard you guys were not going to do any more Maple City Blues fests. Is that true?

  • Hard to say. We're just getting things back in to shape again.

  • And while I'm complaining, where are James' songs that he wrote? They were never returned to his family. Where are James' guitars? those were kept by Brett and never returned to the family. (that's the same as theft in my book) Where is all the money from all those James Wireman memorial benefit shows? Not one dime went to the family. His actual death expenses were covered from the very first night donations and they took in money for months.

  • Well... I can't actually comment on that. That was a long time ago. I was in grade school when that happened. All I can say is that now they try very hard to honor him at the shows and have always spoken highly of him. I don't know about money or guitars.

  • I am sorry you feel that way.IF you were to view this entire video. James Wireman was mentioned at least 4 times at the Maple City Blues Festival. He is mentioned at nearly every show. Last night he was certainly mentioned when we played his hometown. If you look closely on the "THANKS FOR LOVIN THE BLUES" video, Paul even has a picture of James on his shirt. You have your right to not like someones voice, but you cannot discout their committment to keeping the blues alive.

  • Ah yes....Ol' Harv.....I remember his show well from when I lived up in Elkhart. Is Elwood Splinters ever gonna come to Illinois and play?

  • Where at in Illinois? We love to travel?

  • Thanks so very much for posting such a great band, if these guys play anywhere around Michiana, please let me know, PLEASE?

  • James didn't write any songs. He wrote one song that was never played because it was lame. James's didn't own any guitars but a beat up piece of shit, and all the money raised went to James girlfriend Sam who supported him for years.

  • I know for a fact that Harv and Paul and Brett (and myself) have nothing but love for James. I can even still remember where I was when I told he was dead. Eddie Kobek and I were leaning our elbows on the bar at the Madison Oyster Bar.

  • Well you're right, I haven't actually watched a performance since right after James died. It's nice that his name gets mentioned but why isn't it in the bio?

  • You guys sound great...too bad Harv can't sing for shit. (and Paul too) I can't believe that there is no mention of James anywhere on the web site or MySpace site. I don't expect you guys to live in the past but for fuck sakes you could include his name in the band bio. I mean he WAS the heart and soul of the band until he died.
