  • I disagree! I believe you should make every piece you play your own. I thought your use of the rolling chords was very well done, and in good taste. Have you ever heard an original recording of Joplin? No, so how do you know how he actually played it? Have you ever heard an original recording of Chopin? No, so how does anyone ever play his music? It's called interpretation. It's very much like an opinion, everyone has one.

  • I wish more kids his age were into music like this.

  • @momaws77 Scott Joplin would be probably be ok with hearing it played at this speed, I think he'd rather that that too fast! Maybe one of his 'pet peeves'? I'm sure you've heard the quote "... It's never right to play a rag fast." (or something to that effect)? I know this may have been slower than what Scott Joplin intended for most of his rags, particularly towards the end - but isn't it better than too fast? Besides, it was a very nice performance even if you didn't like the tempo. You think?

  • Is this the guy who plays in the Saloon in all the Westerns?

  • Beautiful - no more can be said!

  • @momaws77 To get the weeping, you must plat it slow(er).

  • That kid bugs me.

  • @momaws77 Actually for Weeping Willow I have heard it done slower by Bachscholar overall But I feel that WEEPING WILLOW at the end. otherwise really this won

  • Too slow, It's a Ragtime after all

  • Seriously, Wesley, you rule. You inspired me to learn and play this piece. Great job with this performance.

  • I love your version of my favorite Joplin Rag!!! Kudos to you for making it your own!!!

  • pretty amazing.
