It caused a great stir in my heart. In response to that great mental turmoil, I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. • Tagore is said to have written the poem in honour of God. In a letter to Pulin Behari Sen, Tagore himself wrote: " I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. God of Destiny] of India who has from age after age held steadfast the reins of India's chariot through rise and fall, through the straight path and the curved. That Lord of Destiny, that Reader of the Collective Mind of India, that Perennial Guide, could never be George V, George VI, or any other George. ."

  • So we have a crap song that sucks up to the British adopted as our national anthem.Vande mataram just does not get the popular support of the 'educated middle class' today because every semi educated idiot talks about secularism and not hurting Muslim sentiments. Our 'patriots' are all whiny weaklings who cannot even stand up for the rightful national anthem, when in the past real heroes dared to stand up against the most powerful empire to say 'Vande mataram'.

  • Vande mataram was not supported by Nehru and Tagore as the national anthem for two reasons. It was too 'Hindu' even though many Muslims too sang it. It was too Indian, too traditional and not modern or Europena enough for these two English chamchas. Secondly Auchinleck and Lockhart, who was the Commanders in Chief of Indian armed forces( 1943-1947) suggested to Nehru that Vande mataram with its intense Sanskrit could not be played by British trained military bands !

  • Vande mataram is the rightful national anthem of India. These were the words that inspired millions of Indians during the independence struggle. It was emotively very powerful and the British went to the extent of even banning it's very utterance. Both Tagore and Nehru were British chamchas, they loved the Aristocratic English way of life, their only grievance was that they were invited to the exclusive club of English gentlemen.
