KABAR 5550 FIN drop point non-serrated blade. Great sturdy knife, looks good, weighs about 5.5oz. Edge comes really sharp but doesnt last long, hard to resharpen, does'nt hold an edge as long as I expected but decent. Frame lock design is really tight, no play, and very strong, will not accidentally close on you no mater how you hold it. The thumb hole is great, alot of people complain about it but i think its fine, some complain that the finger guard interferes with the opening of the knife, it really doesnt. Things that I wish were different about the knife are: hold an edge longer, make the handle 1/4" longer, clip point instead of drop point, add a thumb ramp. By the way I really like the slimness of this knife and the very defined finger guard.

  • Really liked your review. Short and to the point. I kinda thought it was funny that you didn't have a problem with the finger guard. Every other review of this knife i've seen, everyone had a problem with it. But you opened it up just fine and went straight to the other features, LOL! Sometimes I think it's kinda silly how people will make such a huge issue out of something so small. I've heard this knife is going to be discontinued soon. Sweet knife!

  • @TheRockweiler Thanks man, I kind sound like Im drunk in that video, perhaps I was. The FIN is such a nice looking knife and its sturdy, but its just too heavy for the size and the edge retention is sub par. I really love my Cold Steel AK47 and Mini AK47. I still plan on getting the Recon one in both Clip point and Tanto (both plain edge). Regards,

  • Just so everyone knows, buy a Cold Steel Mini AK-47. Its a much better knife, its about $10 more but the blade is way sharper, holds and edge longer, and is easier to keep sharp or sharpen, and its about 1/2 the weight.

  • mike, you should change the title of the video so people can find your videos... especially if they are searching the name of this knife

  • @AFullPlateProduction fixed, thanks Dave. Whats new buddeh? Dude watch Assimilate by Skinny Puppy.

  • @killerkowalczyk just writing beats man, trying to get noticed, same old same old...what's up with you?

  • @AFullPlateProduction just working man, got my CET certificate coming soon. Make sure you watch that video man, if it werent for skinny puppy you wouldnt be doing what your doing right now.

  • I just got the FIN in the mail the other day. I may have received one of the last batches made. Glad I ordered it and didn't listen to all the bad reviews. Yeah, it's does have some weight to it. But I love it. I'm a fan of stout folders. It locks up like a vault. I'll have to use it and see how the edge keeps up. Otherwise it's such a cool little knife. Take it easy.
