BLiPPEE - Because everybody likes toys!

The Cabbage Patch Snacktime Kid is ironically one of the best-functioning Cabbage Patch dolls ever made. The doll comes with plastic food that it "eats". They became the "must have" for Christmas of 1996.

Recalled because it also eats the fingers and hair of their owners.

I want to get one of those Chucky dolls and then put the eating mechanism from one of these into it.

Tje original was 1987 it ate hair their was another one like this in 90's don't remember exact year and it had a safety thing so it wouldn't eat hair. It is illegal to sell rhe 87 one the 90's ones can be sild and probably aren't hard to find and they womt eat hair but are far less fun as it didn't seem to really chew. Yes I was one who got hair caught in it but that's a duh if you are 2 in half and your parents dobt watch you or put your hair up it was 80's everyone did dumb stuff

Actually, they were released in 1996, not 1987.

According to Wikipedia, On 12/31/1996, after 700,000 dolls were distributed in the United States in just five months, the CPSC along with manufacturers Mattel announced that they would place warning information labels on all unsold dolls. A week later, in 1/1997, CPSC and Mattel announced that all Cabbage Patch Kids Snacktime Kids were being removed from the market.

After the 1996 models, no other motorized Snacktime Kids were released by Mattel.

Sure, that would definitely stop it from working. If you're going to do that, it would be easier to just remove the batteries.

I had this doll, I never had a problem with it. When they were recalled I still kept mine, she was one of my favorite dolls, and I knew better than to feed her my hair

When I was little I begged my parents to buy me one...until the whole "hair got caught in its mouth" issue hit the news....I vaguely remember seeing this poor girl on the news with a big bald spot : ( yikes.....!?

Why can't the kids take the batteries out of them when they went to bed?

Things that are recalled are worth more on the Collectables market. There are fewer of them out there, and folks want them, still. Like the 1969 Dancerina that kids lost fingers sticking them into her hip sockets. I still have mine, in the box.
