Onboard for the outlap, hotlap and mandatory doughnuts in the Renault F1 car around the streets of Liverpool. My latest update video showing the work on my "Liverpool Waterfront Circuit" track for rFactor showing the addition of buildings, updated textures, grandstands, trees, improved road surface, pitlane etc. Quite a few things to list, but even more left to go. Oh, and Ive decided to make this my first HD video too. Enjoy :)

Rfactor : No driving aids enabled, recorded using FRAPS at 1280x720
Car : FSONE08 Renault, 2009 Renault skin, default rFactor sounds
Music : Jon Hopkins - 100

  • Great video, why is the Atlantic tower hotel missing

  • @jimmysnailshoes I am not a 3d modeler and couldn't create any of the buildings myself so all the landmark buildings you see on the track were taken from Google Earth (with permissions of course). The atlantic tower was very buggy for some reason and refused to import into the track editing program and all the other buildings that are missing hadn't been made.

  • I got a doubt, how do you stamp the track's stripes and marks? Iis it either a specific texture for it or used objects with alpha transparent texture? Thanks in advance

  • @Kw12345ff The road underneath is a standard asphalt texture file, quite basic. The lines are made using the walls feature in Bob's Track Builder with collision turned off and very small filesize alpha transparent textures. It's very easy to get the lines to go where you want this way, it just uses a few more polygons than normal but saves you lots of memory by not having lots of different large filesize road texture files.

  • is a track like this to hard to do?? what if I want to do one in my city how can I do that??could you give me some advice?

  • @jorgemdllin Getting the basic layout created is very easy using a program called Bob's Track Builder. The difficult part is creating the scenery. If you have a generic track with generic trees and pit buildings then you can use models that come with the program, but when you need to make specific buildings you need to actually make them yourself and design all the textures too.

  • @Uvall127a Probably out side your little shity house, in your little shity Town ,Jealous Fucker xxx :O)

  • @Woffin dont get me wrong i wasnt critising you, i think the video is immense mate

  • Sorry about the complete lack of updates, things have been very busy over the past year or two. Unfortunately I had to abandon the project as I no longer got the time to work on it. All of the complex buildings had been taken from Google Earth so to carry on making the track would have required a lot of time learning advanced 3d modeling or getting someone else on board.

Neither option was possible so I'd like to apologise to anyone who was looking forward to racing on this track.

  • Wow.

  • that track looks good, maybe not a future F1 venue (the cars are too expensive) but it would be an amazing track for the touring cars, if the track is to FIA standards

  • There is no way that this is Liverpool ....??? Where are all the Rat kids and the wheelie bins?
