As a last minute Halloween project, my wife and I decided to take on the building of the character Sam from the film Trick 'r Treat. My original idea was to build him from scrap pieces of wood in my storage building but while searching Goodwill for clothes, we came across three "Corner Kids" that would've worked perfectly. We also picked up a long-sleeved, orange shirt that worked perfectly for his costume.
His head was made from a jack-o-lantern trick-or-treat bucket and some burlap material picked up from JoAnn's. The rope was also bought at JoAnn's. The fabric glue, paint, "wall," buttons for the eyes and string for the facial features were all items we had on hand.
Finally, we picked up a cheap wand ($1.00) from Michael's and a jack-o-lantern cupcake stencil to make his lollipop.
Total cost for our Sam (not counting red light): less than $25.00
Happy Halloween!
Video was captured with a Flip UltraHD camera shot in 720p. Encoded with Compressor and edited in Final Cut Pro - made on a Mac.
