Magician Ricky Jay on Arsenio in 1988

Slight-of-hand magician Ricky Jay appears here on Arsenio back in 1988 with an amazing performance. I captured this from my own VHS-recorded copy of the broadcast from back in the day. :) For the ...

Then you obviously have never ever seen anyone else besides Ricky Jay. There are other magicians out there with big names that are the same level as Ricky Jay. The only reason why Ricky Jay is so good is because he was taught by none other than Dai Vernon, history's best card magician. He's the one who took card magic to the level as we know it today.
So you being so ignorant, simply means you don't know anyone else but Ricky Jay.

He's not the best there is. He's one of the best.

I've seen several other magicians try to manipulate cards this way. David copperfield is decent, but still can't touch this. Criss Angel cannot either. I'll admit that I've never heard of 'Dai Vernon' but you cannot deny that most of the times the APPRENTICE out-does the master.

Just because I'm not an obsessive asian card wannabe doesn't mean I'm ignorant. Then again, you're cool in my book because you look like Bobby Lee. So just settle down, little guy.

Who ever said I was being obessive? I just know other card magicians. You can hardly call David Copperfield a card magician seeing 3/4th of his shows all revolve around big stage magic. Criss Angel too, doesn't only specialize in cards.
By saying; "The apprentice out-does the master" you clearly don't know who Dai Vernon is, yet you claim you effectively know Ricky Jay's the best there is?
He even managed to fool Houdini with his cards.
E.g.: Go look up Lee Asher, who invented Thunderbird.

Quote: "There are other magicians out there with big names who are at the same level as Ricky Jay". Who?

I'd define 'Big Name' as: Was in a prime time movie, or, has his own television show, or, headlines in vegas regularly.

So feel free to let me know, but remember, this is just stupid youtube argument dude, nothing to get all worked up about.

Lee Asher, Dai Vernon (died), David Blaine, Larry Jennings (died), Joshua Jay,...

The list goes on.

Like I've said, by saying Ricky Jay's the best, is just a personal opinion, it's not a fact. He's not the best, although he's one of the best there is out there. His card-skills are great but that doesn't mean you can't apprehend his level of skill.

And, get worked up on what? You're the one who said: "Hands down, no one's better than Ricky Jay!" -> pretty much a fanboycomment. :D

I have to admit, I looked up lee vernon and was pretty impressed. He's not a big name from the looks of it though.

David Blaine on the other hand... His card tricks are the most basic that i've ever seen. I think you were just trying to fill the list. DB sucks the fat one.

So considering that you've stated your opinions of the best, i'll once again state mine. Ricky Jay, FOR THE WIN. The best ever.
