Understanding that an MMArtist will attempt to put you on your back and having the tools to defend against it are two different things. It's much easier to score a takedown than it is a knockout punch. Please don't repeat this nonsense about Boxers having magic punches. Most Boxers miss more power punches than they land. A high level MMArtist can score 70 - 80% of their takedowns on fellow MMArtists who actually cross-train to defend against them which Boxers do not.

@markymark2069
If nothing happens though they get stood up..thank god. Some mmas and fans dont like this because it exposes their hard on! Why is pizza the fave food to watch UFC..so fans can hide their erection!

It's very unique in that you can't just run to gain stamina for grappling. Grappling continuously and working out with increasing reps for all muscles in the body is the best way to increase stamina for grappling.

Agreed! Anyone who's done grappling knows that it gets you tired faster than anything else.

Actually, UFC has 5 rounds of 5 min, so it's 25min. Boxing has 12 rounds of 3 min, so it's 36 min. Take into acount that MMA stresses more muscles in the body than boxing, I think it might even favor MMA.

@bullmeatt, Yes in a real life or death fight weapons and anything goes.
When people say boxing is a fraction of MMA/UFC that is true in the sense that jiujitsu, wrestling, and muay thai are also fractions of UFC/MMA. Every mma fighter knows they need a decent stand up and a good ground game to compete.

@markymark2069 ok thats true and i agree that it is the closest to real fighting. I dont like it being called the sport of fighting though. Weapons are included in real fighting.
As long as people dont say that boxing is a fraction of ufc im ok cause thats not how it is. Boxing is a sport itself. The two are two different sports and yes UFC is the closest thing to real fighting becuase it has the least restrictions of all other sports.
