  • Finally getting around to making my sled! Had to watch your vid again to get me started. Something I noticed both times I've been here is how much you sound like Dane Cook! Anyone ever tell you that? LOL! Not that it's a bad thing, don't get me wrong. I was just amazed at the resemblance. Building my sled first thing tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

  • @coachsteve Good luck building your new sled. Sounds like a good day to me. Let me know how it turns out and how you like it. Have fun!

  • Nicely done my brother! I'm a middle-aged guy who never took shop class in high school and grew up without a dad around so woodworking is something I'm learning later in life than the average guy. I'm a do-it-yourselfer as much as possible and it's instructional vids like yours that make it possible for guys like me to learn this stuff as we go along. Your sled kicks butt compared to many of the others shown on YT. Thanks for taking the time to share your idea with us!

Hi, thank's for the complament's. I have lot's of footage (project's) ready to be edited and uploaded to youtube & expect my video's to be better over time.

  • Mike, this is a great video. I'm new to woodworking and I've made one crosscut sled. After doing this, I realize I did it all wrong, and I think it isn't quite square because of it. This video is completely dummy proof and makes me want to go back and re-make mine.

My wife wouldn't be able to watch it cause she gets motion sick, but I'm an old sailor so I was good. The audio was cracking me up, you're so non-chalant, and it sounds like you live at a zoo. Informative, entertaining, 2 thumbs up!

  • @TheLinagen Thanks. I just do it for fun. The zoo jungle sound is my parrots. I have a handful of them and a few vid's too. I have to try to hold the camera still in any future video's I guess. Thanks for letting me know, Mike

  • Are those singing birds in the background? NIce jig

    Thanks

  • i made a sled once, but it was on an Ace saw with a pseudo T-slot so it was a bit of a pain. then of course the wing broke off the table later for some reason rendering the sled useless

  • @12345mike6789 More vids... Awesome! They'll inevitably get better as you go along. One thing you should consider is to have someone else as your cameraman. A tripod would work but with the number of times you'd want to zoom in on the things you're describing in detail, you'd be forever going back and forth between the camera and the project so that option really isn't viable. I spent 10 years as a girls' tournament softball coach and I made numerous instructional videos over the years.
