  • that's amazing!

  • Can you hand feed rats?

  • @uhf001 I never had any rats, but I had a little mouse that used to climb up into my lap and feed out of my hand. They really are kind of cute, once you get to know them. All life is precious.

  • So neat to see this. I had a three-legged squirrel who befriended me a few years back - she was quite a character. She would take nuts from my hand, and ring little bells on my screen door when she was hungry. Eventually, she came to sit in my lap and allow me to pet her while she ate - I miss that little girl. Thanks for posting this - made my day!

  • Nice!

  • @1:34 them some big ass squirrel balls @.@

  • @ 5random1;what you say is true EXCEPT for the raw peanuts statement. This is a myth.I have been feeding Squirrels in my yard raw unroasted peanuts for 15 years or so,and have NEVER seen one get sick from eating them;in fact, they LOVE them!People should NOT eat raw peanuts. But Squirrels(and all other animals) have different digestive systems than humans, and can tolerate them.I have seen Squirrels munch mushrooms that would kill a human!

  • @ mastermind:Squirrels can get Rabies, but almost never do not pass it on,as they are killed when contracting it by the animal that gives it to them.I have never heard of a Squirrel giving someone Rabies, and all the rehabbers that I know agree. They do bite sometimes though, out of fear,so it really is better to not hand feed them.

  • I have been feeding the Squirrels in my neighborhood for 15 years or so.I have 5 feeders where they can self serve for peanuts.Honestly though,I do NOT recommend that people entice Squirrels to feed from their hands,as it creates an unnatural process where the animals lose their natural fear of people. While you may mean well, some people are not so kind to wild animals, and when the animals run up to them for food, the people may harm them.PLEASE Keep wild Squirrels wild!

  • I have a TON of squirrels in by back yard and IO think it would be cool to sit and hand feed them. I remember when I went to Penn state University to see a football game that was my first experience handfeeding them. I suppose from all the people up there they are rather used to them and they (The Students) like to hand feed them as well. there are signs there about not doing it but I had to do it once.

  • Chipmunks are safer & probably easier to hand feed. Remember that grey squirrels can carry rabies and/or other diseases. You might think these squirrels are all cute & cuddly, but they can be quite nasty, too. Their bites will be bad. They could tear you apart if they wanted. Don't under estimate them. Just a thought.

  • 4:55 LOL

  • How adorable! I will be doing that when it get's a bit warmer outside.

  • I LURVE ANIMALS!
