This video is one of a series of TV spots that aired in Vietnam as part of the Joint Communication Campaign for Prevention of Domestic Violence. Produced by the Spanish NGO Peace and Development (Paz Y Desarrollo, PyD), the TV spot is part of a variety of outreach materials, including radio programs, print material and events, aimed at positively encouraging men to take an active stance in ending domestic violence. It also aims to challenge the widely-held belief that domestic violence is a private matter. Led by PyD and the Family Department of the Ministry of Culture, and funded mostly by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the campaign is a joint effort with UNIFEM, UNFPA, UNODC, Farmers Union Vietnam, Youths Union Vietnam, Womens Union Vietnam and other national and international organizations. (Year of Release: 2009, Aired: 2009-2010)
