Resident Evil 2 - Leon A (Normal) No Weapons Run (1/11)

RE2 played on an emulator for recording purposes although a real copy is owned, (as well as the PlayStation). No save states, keep it real.

With all the RE vids, I haven't seen one (not saying it isn't out there) of a person beating a RE game with no weapons. Now knife runs are common, (something I can't nor really have tried or want to do) but has anyone beaten a RE game without using weapons, using them only on bosses only since you have to kill them? Is that even possible?

Why yes. Yes it is. Here's my run on Leon A without using any weapons. Bosses only, (cause again, you have to kill them). Maybe this will cause more people to do this type of thing, (I'd like to see other RE games played like this). I'm not gonna do Leon B or Claire's scenarios, but they're obviously possible.

Unfortunately by using my RE2 copy for the emulator, the voices in the cutscenes were not read. So when the cutscenes happen, the characters won't talk. I'm sorry. But it's better than nothing. Also, the sewer area has slowdowns. Like every minute it does like 5 seconds slowdown. Ugh. But the beginning and end is ok.

So....enjoy. I'm sure you pros out there could do this AND not get touched AND only use the knife on the bosses....Freakin' pros......Jus' playin.

I got the download version for PC XP yet I never got to fight either birkin 1 or mr. x. Someone tell me why?

@Justinian43 Is Birkin 1 the time you fight him when he has that pole in his hand? If that's what you are referring to, then the reason why is because you only beat Scenario A with either Leon or Claire. You need to save the game after you beat it and you will notice it will say Scenario B. You use the other character and do B to fight Birkin 1 and Mr. X

oooh yeah ik wat u mean, i started scenario B and good thing i saved some weapons for "claire" because i heard rumors that the weapons you take for scenario a won't be there for scenario B

@Justinian43 You're good, the only things that carry over from scenario A to B is the backpack and machine gun. Whatever you take in A won't be in B. Everything else doesn't carry over, so it's ok. The only other thing that carries over is a puzzle in the final part of the game. It's a secret room that can only be opened in B and will only open if you did something in A.

@ATARIEone you beat it with claire scenario a, saved the end, and it says leon b and won't let you play? hmm.....well there's only two things i can think of. one, you're trying to play leon b on claire's disc, (ya gotta use leon, but im sure you know this) or two, you leon disc is messed up. hope you can get it workin

Not going to watch all the vids. (gets boring after the 1000 time of beating it.) but still nonetheless i believe you did it. Very impressive. I read your board on gamefaqs and was like "geez, imma have to check this out a little bit. anyways congrats good job. You should try some of he other games. Especially the first one (so much close encounter would make it more challenging.)
