Original Outtakes & 2009 EMI Remaster
16:9 HD Clip 3000kBit/s / Audio 320kBit/s 48000Hz

The tape ended up like the bootleg version. We let Glyn Johns remix it, we didn't want to know.
We just left it to him and said, 'Here, do it.' It's the first time since the first album that we didn't have anything to do with it. None of us could be bothered going in. Everybody was probably thinking, 'Well, I'm not going to work on it.'

Nobody could face looking at it.

I thought it would be great to go out - the shitty version - because it would break The Beatles. It would break the myth: 'That's us, with no trousers on and no glossy paint over the cover and no sort of hope. This is what we are like with our trousers off, so would you please end the game now.
(John Lennon)

Most Beatles fans are familiar with The Beatles' nearly disastrous "Get Back / Let It Be Sessions" in January 1969 that, ultimately, resulted in the Let It Be album and movie. Many fans are also aware that an earlier album titled Get Back was compiled from the sessions by engineer/producer Glyn Johns
and was scheduled for release at various times throughout 1969 and early 1970. Apparently, Glyn made at least four different variants of his compilation. Three of these compilations were considered for release with each successive one superseding the previous. Glyn also produced a compilation which, at one point, was rumored to be considered as potentially part of a second album of jams and Rock & Roll oldies.

Track 01 - TWO OF US "Kum Back" Acetate
This mix includes a snippet of another performance (probably a remnant of an earlier, discarded mix) and a false start not heard on compilations 2, 3 or 4.

Track 02 - LET IT BE (EDITED) Compilation 4
It was December 1969 and still no Get Back album. The primary factor for the delay was The Beatles' general disdain for the sessions and material. Production of the book, which was to accompany the album, provided some delay but a major hold up was the film production. With the film nearing completion, it was determined that the album's original track line-up would not be seen or heard the movie.

Since both master reels still exist for the previous compilation as well as this compilation, and this
compilation is noted as "Do not use for mastering", it can be assumed that Glyn made a dub of compilation 3 (reel AR14271/2 LP) and, as is apparent with the earlier compilations, since no mix tapes are logged by John Barrett, Glyn probably spliced the new mixes onto the dub reel and numbered it AR16991/2. There is no definitive evidence to indicate if acetates were cut.

Track 03 - LET IT BE (EDITED) 2009 EMI Remaster
Coordinated by Allan Rouse, the Abbey Road team consisted of Guy Massey (Senior Recording Engineer), Steve Rooke (Senior Mastering Engineer), Paul Hicks (Recording Engineer), Sean Magee (Mastering Engineer), Sam Okell (Recording Engineer) and Simon Gibson (Audio Restoration Engineer).

The remasters were released on 9th September 2009 through EMI Music and Apple Corps.

I was only looking forward to buy Oasis recordings - and that means a lot these days.
