@DahjOkA becomes Canadian that means their American canadians, whats the big deal. The whole country of Thialand was ones part of Cambodia but they fought themselves free. So actually the Thai people and Cambodian share the same history but now the Thais are just the victorious people. hey that can happen. So forget about the past and just make the best of it now

Yes I know everything you say. My friend is from surin and is half khmer and half Laos, but the people still say they Khmer Thai or Laos Thai. They still speak the same language (Khmer or Laos or Issan). So now if ur from Surin u can be khmer or laos or issaan thai people. So why say he is cambodian when u in fact can say he is khmer thai. i dont think the people have problems with being thai when they have kept their own culture and language. @Ericwvm Surin is originally a part of the KHMER Empire until Thailand took over it, Surin has been a part of Cambodian for thousands of years until Thailand took it over.

When Thailand took over, the people who live in Surin are still Khmer, they were FORCED to change their names to Thai names and learn Thai or be persecuted, Thailand banned all videos of Tony Jaa speaking Khmer because they want to keep him as a Thai celebrity
