  • @saainnigampen you are right on. i know this guy who is so charming and smart whever he goes knows who and how to talk to people whithin months he is a manager. he doesnt care if he lossoes his job, he can get another one and within months he is the manager over there, he has been to prison and robs things from the plces he works, he can talk his way out of anything.

  • @Zaphenath4 Exactly, that’s exactly why I think the WAIS test is not an accurate measurement for intelligence. An intelligence test should not by any means measure knowledge and then connect it with intelligence, as it’s two entirely different terms representing two entirely different properties of the mind. The Raven’s Progressive Matrices is a better indicator of accurate intelligence measuring – it does not rely upon testing knowledge, facts or anything not related to ‘intelligence’.

  • To do well in life you just need an IQ slightly above average. A very high IQ grants you no more success than a person with slightly above average IQ. Having success in life also heavily depends on your social skills., which IQ-test dont measure.

  • @kiikasi I would disagree with you there. Creativity is also required for problem solving which is needed for science.

  • @sonofhendrix Very true. However, some of the greatest scientific discoveries have been attributed to individuals with average iq scores. Creativity and asking the right questions is also very important.

  • excuses and other kinds of abilities aside, if you look at history many of the greatest most influential people had very high iq.

  • its the british brain washing cooperation, so dont expect it to be scientific or accurate. A standard timed iq test is all that's needed, this will measure the ability to learn.

  • If you look at intelligence, and lifespan, there problably is a relation. However, what is interesting is that people who hit pubery "later" (most intelligent people, average east asian person) are the same ones who live longer. It could be that their whole life goes "Slower". It would be interesting to see if they have a lower heartrate too. Animals with a high heartrate usually live 'short'lives in year(mice etc), while animals with a low heartrate (usually slower too)life a longer year

  • What the hell does vocabulary and general knowledge got to do with intelligence? Sure, intelligent people usually have large vocaubluaries, but that doesn't mean they know every single word there is. Even a dumb person can know how far the Earth is from the Sun if you just tell him the fact.

  • No and no. Intelligence isn't the same as a high IQ score. By doing the test over and over you will get higher scores, but you won't get any smarter. If you're sleepy, your IQ score will be lower, but it has no real effect on how intelligent you are. We should come up with a better test, but as of now a good IQ test is a decent representation of someone's verbal, logical and mathematical abilities.
