Rat loves cat... cat tolerates rat. A really cute interspecies relationship :) My rat, Peanut, follows Ranj around everywhere! She gives him kisses and hugs.

Actually, cats can be taught to live alongside a number of other animals including birds and rodents. I've heard one of the keys to making this a success instead of a gory snack is to introduce the two animals when they are near the same size or the traditionally predatory one is smaller than the traditionally hunted one.

@chibudgielvr hey there .. question , when you got peanut did you get him at a very young age ?.. my kitten like play alot and gets bored, then doesn't know what to do with himself ..i wanna get one to keep him company when i cant play with him .so am thinking about getting him a little friend any tips..they are so cute by the way :-)

@Jessicamorel1991 I wouldn't recommend that... your kitten will be a cat soon and he won't need to be entertained 24/7... And you can't be certain that they will get along. If you get a rat, that will be another animal that you will need to keep company and you need to SUPERVISE at all times when it is out of its cage.
