Nokia 6820

The Nokia 6820 is the size of an ordinary phone. But it's bigger on the inside, with a full messaging keyboard. Like the 6800 and 6810, it's described by Nokia as a "Messaging Device" rather than a mobile phone, and is a device designed for those who need flexible communications whilst on the move.

Out of the trio of messaging devices (6800, 6810 and 6820), the 6820 has the most features, adding an integrated digital camera and video recorder to its specification. The 6820 is also the most compact of the three, and weighs in at just 100g.

We like the Bluetooth connectivity and EDGE connection for high speed data, and the QWERTY keyboard is a fantastic innovation, but at the same time we are disappointed by the poor colour display and low resolution camera, and the keyboard is not as easy to use as it could have been. A good try from Nokia, and we look forward to a replacement design that fixes these shortcomings - that would be a truly outstanding mobile device. The Nokia 6822 goes some way towards this goal.

my pathetic pantech duo which has been slowing getting worse for the past 18months finally gave up the ghost last week so I went thru my junk drawer and pulled out my trusty 6820. The phone is coming up on 6years and works like the 1st day I got it. Unlike the Duo which didn't even make it to 2 years. Makes me hope nokia catches up w/ the smartphone market, and starts getting contracts thru Verizon and AT&T cuz i miss them
