Introduced and originally recorded by Sister Rosetta Tharpe & Marie Knight, way back in 1948, it eventually made it into Hovie Lister and The Statesmen Quartet's repertoire. Elvis liked it so much that he included a portion of the song in a medley of gospel songs on his '68 Comeback Special. Everyone sings a bit on this song, but Jake Hess (lead) and "The Big Chief" (bass) really shine in the middle and on the end. This is the kind of song you'd expect to hear at an all night sing!
Great job on the video, love this song.
