COMPLETELY ACOUSTIC, NO MIKE
(therefor the sound is very soft in the beginning)

Who's Jaimi Faulkner?
Jaimi Faulkner (Melbourne, Australia 1982) has the reputation of a gifted songwriter, exciting live performer and accomplished musician, and it's a reputation that's well deserved.

Brought up on a diet rich in Blues, Country and Folk music, Jaimi's music logically reflects these genres, but with a quality and voice that is uniquely his own.

It's been a sure and steady rise on the Australian music scene for this likeable young performer, his talents having had time to develop and mature naturally since the 2004 release of his debut, 'Last Light' at age 21. That album, featuring Aria Award winners Mia Dyson and Chris Wilson, debuted at No. 5 on the Australian Rhythms Magazine Charts where it held its position for 4 months! This paid off well; Jaimi was invited to support his favourite songwriter Chris Whitley (USA) on his Australian tour.

In the years after that Faulkner hit both international and local highways, playing more than 200 shows in 2007. These included performances at the American Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale Mississippi, playing with the legendary Big Jack Johnson.

Also he won the prestigious Australian Blues/Roots Performer of the Year (band category) and was awarded with the opportunity to represent Australia in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jaimi and band headed to the United States to perform alongside some of the world's top Blues/Roots performers, scoring a mention in Blues Revue Magazine, as one of the 'hot power trios' of the Challenge.
He crossed the Atlantic for a short solo tour in Germany. Back home he finished this succesfull year with supports on Chris Isaak and Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) and kept touring and recording

In june 2009 his 2nd full cd 'Kiss & Ride' was released. The sounds of folk and blues influences are a feature on Kiss & Ride, but listeners will also hear music inspired from the time Jaimi spent in Memphis, immersing himself in the sounds and flavours of soul music and meeting legendary soul singer, Reverend Al Green.

Don't let the full sound of the cd misleed you though; mostly touring as a solo artists outside of Australia, live and acoustic Jaimi more than lives up to the expectation of the cd as he not only is a brilliant guitarplayer (sounding like a one man band) but also has a voice to die for that leaves everyone in the audience short of breath.

Because of his ongoing success in Germany, Jaimi re-located to Berlin last june 2010. This finally gave him the chance to tour the Netherlands and Belgium in October/November 2010 to build his reputation which brought him standing ovations even on supportshows with Guy Forsyth, the Holmes Brothers and Rory Block.YIMA is very proud to do the European management of this killer guitarplayer and exellent Australian songwriter and singer!
