It's not (technically speaking) a "song".Its a choral piece.
It is Agnus Dei(Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the World etc)
In 1936 Samuel Barber took the slow movement of his String Quartet and orchestrated it.It became world famous.In 1967 he decided to set it for choir and call it Agnus Dei.
