hey brilliant couch potato, it is also possible to do it with 1 motor when one of the wheels only have a controlled brake mechanism, a big disadvantage about it, the control problem is harder(radial movement).. I dont think you can solve that problem even while you cannot imagine that..

it uses gyro and accelerometer and Kalman filtering.The motors are fischertechnik dc gear motors with gear ratio 8:1 from the Power Motor Set part no. 34965. They can also be ordered as single parts, part no. 35481, from Knobloch GmbH. The original manufacturer is Igarashi, part no. are:
