When my youngest got a bunch of clothes for his birthday, he announced that it was his worst birthday EVER.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she is all right.

My birthdays have been forgotten a few times in the past, so what I like to do for my birthday is to get myself something, or plan to do something for myself even if I don't have any money.

I hope that next year you have a much better birthday. And even though your birthday is over, just go out and do something for yourself, even if it's something small.  Take care. :)
