One man received minor injuries Tuesday after a vehicle crashed into a building at the New Hartford Shopping Center.
New Hartford police and firefighters responded to the accident shortly after 3:30 p.m. They found a 1996 Dodge Stratus backed through the plate glass windows on the front of the Dollar General store, its rear bumper suspended on the windowsill several feet in the air.
Officer Daniel Herman said the driver, 87-year-old Patricia Dwyer of New Hartford, was backing out of a parking space in front of the store when she noticed another car coming down the row behind her. She tried to brake, but hit the gas instead, he said.
