Today I completed my Class D endorsement for my RA-Aus pilot certificate in Cloud Dancers SportStar PLUS. If you'd also like to fly Cloud Dancers aircraft, you can email Adrian on: adrian[at]clouddancer.com.au (replace the [at] with @)
@winsor68 ...as well as L2 maintenance on ALL aircraft operating in the airspace (including homebuilts, kits etc...), a VHF radio, an operation endorsement (R) & a transponder maintained and fitted according to the appropriate CAO. Once the exemption is issued it can only be used for the specified aircraft (school owned or belonging to the club) to depart and enter airspace at that particular airport. For example you may depart Jandakot on exemption but you can't land at Parafield.
@winsor68 At the moment there is only exemptions at aerodromes like Jandakot, Parafield & I think Moorabbin has some RAA training?. I'm not sure about other locations. The exemption can be applied for through CASA with the collaboration of RA-Aus however it will generally only be issued to a flight school or possibly a club. The school that manages the exemption at Jandakot allows people to fly their own RA-Aus planes but they charge a fee to use their exemption. A Class 2 medical is required...
@winsor68 Negative winsor, it's not an RA-Aus endorsement but rather a logbook stamp. Certain flying schools operate out of Class D airspace under exemption from CASA and RA-Aus. These schools require you to undertake the required training to become competent with the airspace (not really any training if you have a PPL or experience in controlled airspace). No PPL is required for this however a Class 2 medical is mandatory.
What is a Class D endorsement? I seem to be missing that one. Ah... I get it (good old google)... they are operation out of Class D. I didn't realize it was an endo... do you need a PPL for it?

@sseeker21 Does the exemption apply to just Jandakot or can you use it for any airport? It would be great to offer this in Mackay.
