It was drizzling later on that twilight, and I spotted a shadow moving out in the tree. Brey. I smiled, and went out onto my terrace and waved.
"Hey Jonas." He said, jumping in front of me.
"What's up Brey?"
"Not much. You?"
"Just thinking."
"'Bout?"
"Everything." I said, walking to the rail.
He followed, and looked up into the sunset. I felt a chill down my spine, and the sudden breeze was freezing.
"Borrow jacket?" I asked, with a puppy dog pout.
He rolled his eyes, and unzipped his jacket. He smiled his perfect grin, and handed the jacket to me.
"Thanks." I said, smiling.
"Anytime."
"Have you ever wondered," I asked seriously, "what would've happened if my brothers didn't find me?"
"Well," he started, "if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have had the guts to audition for anything. I wouldn't have passed. I wouldn't be doing what I love, and not feeling guilty about it."
The cold breeze blew into his brown hair, and his bright blue eyes met mine.
"If your brothers didn't find you," he continued, "I wouldnt' have either."
I smiled, and I heard a guitar playing. Nick.
"May I have this dance my lady?" Brey asked, bowing.
"Why yes, you may." I said, giving a curtsy, with an imaginary dress.
He laughed, as put both of his hands on my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and we started swaying to Nicks guitar. Soon, another guitar joined in.
"Kevin." I announced.
He grinned.
"Don't kill me okay, Lee?"
"If I murdered you, I'd have reasons Davids." I giggled.
"Exactly. I'm giving you one." He smirked.
I looked at him confused, but still with a smile on my face.
"Linley," he sighed, "I love you."
My mouth fell a bit open, but I shut it straight away.
He leaned in closer, his eyes focused onto mine. As his nose touched mine, I felt de ja vu. I was waiting for a director to yell cut, until he kissed me. Again. I was sort of shocked at first, but then, I relaxed. The rain got harder, and I heard thunder in the distance, but I so didn't care right now. He deepened the kiss, and I closed my eyes. He pulled the hood of his jacket over my head, and pulled me in closer to him. I felt goose bumps run up my skin, not knowing wether it was from the rain, or from Brey.
Slowly, he pulled away and I opened my eyes.
"So not fair Brey." I said, with a sly smile on my face.
"From what I see, it's totally fair, Linley. "
I smiled, feeling the blood rush up to my cheeks.
"I need to go." He said, kissing my forehead,
"I'll see you around Jonas. Don't worry, you can keep the jacket." He winked, and disappeared into the tree.
I went into my room, closed the glass doors to my balcony, closed the curtains, and ran onto my bed. I buried my face into a pillow, and squealed.
I sat, there, soaking wet, speechless. I giggled, and then heard a knock on the door.
"Hey Lee," I heard Joe's voice say, "can I- why are you soaking wet?"
I shook my head with a smile, and he looked at me like I was insane.
"Oh." He said, his eyes widening, "I've seen that look before. On Nick. On Kev. And believe it or not, in the mirror."
I bit my lower lip and looked to the floor.
"Brey?" He asked.
I nodded, trying to speak.
"Yeah." was all I managed.
"Oh." Joe said, feeling awkward, "Okay, I'm leaving the protective brothering up to Nicholas." He said, palms up in defeat.
I rolled my eyes, and he sat down beside me.
"Wanna keep this just between you and me?" He asked.
"Yes please. "
He laughed, and I hugged him.
"Aw, c'mon Linley! You're all wet."
I rolled my eyes, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Gross! Brey was all over those lips!"
