GF miscarriage explosion

Again, does Darnell's reaction to Maya's miscarriage play out as you would expect it to, given that he is a working class black man? Is this representation of a black man often seen in the media? Why or why not? And what of Maya's reaction, or lack thereof? What is the stereotype of modern black women that she is trying hard to play out?
