Ive done a search without a hose that is not my problem. You walk into a home with fire around the entrance and you lay your hose in fire like it is fireproof and that is not wise. The line was already charged so it would have taken two seconds to knock down the fire to protect egress. You can be aggressive and smart at the same time. Someone else said that safety was for those afraid of fire....My question to them is why do we have fire gear at all? Let's just run in with shorts and a t shirt.

STEAM BURNS, SUCKS THE OXYGEN OUT, NO VISIBILITY. if you are going to apply water , you might as well not go in! every firefighter who makes interior attacks no matter WERE YOU WORK, should think of the houston fire dept. thank you capt. CLIFFORD REED for giving us the ability to do what we do!

Heatmizer61, it is a common practice to do primary searches without a hoseline, if the house was bigger, tag lines would probably be used. Houston Fire great job! Your fellow brother in Corpus Christi Fire.

im a fire fighter and when your making attack in a structure with entrapment you dont look at everything like you should heatmizer, yeah it should have been put out but the life would have been lost and you know it, good job guys GREAT SAVE!!!!!
