His Dark Materials: The Subtle Knife - Teaser Trailer

Now presenting the teaser trailer for the second installment in the epic His Dark Materials trilogy from New Line Cinema, based off the worldwide bestselling books by Phillip Pullman. In this new adventure Lyra Belaqua finds herself travelling into uncharted lands and searching for a mysterious artifact believed to slice through the walls of the different dimensions. Joining her on this quest is a young boy named Will Parry, portrayed by Thomas Malone. Dakota Blue Richards, Nicole Kidman, and Daniel Craig also star. His Dark Materials: The Subtle Knife heads into theaters soon!




Okay, now wouldn't it be great if that were actually true?! I'm sorry for the decieving title and the news that this video is strictly 100% fan made, but as a massive HDM fan I know what it's like to see something or read a little blurb that restores your hope that sequels will be made....eventually. Unlikely though that is now, I won't give up hope. Henceforth I made this video to remind all fans what could have been and how amazing the story Pullman wrote is. I know it's nothing special, but after seeing some other videos similar to this on YouTube I decided to give it a shot. This is the first video I've ever attempted to make so I'm aware of a few minor problems. But with that in mind, I'd still really appreciate feedback. Also, if people are happy with this and like my trailer I'm willing to and would eagerly accept the challenge of making a complete one. Just let me know!!!

All clips are from the Restored ending of the Golden Compass, found in the video game and at many various other places. Music used was Iorek Byrnison from the Golden Compass soundtrack (composed by Alexandre Desplat) and Lux Aeterna by Requiem for a Dream.

Hey everyone, sorry I forgot to post this. I've been extremely busy lately, and have also been working on some other videos people may be interested in. Top of the list being trailers for Buffy Season 8, and Veronica Mars Season 4. That's not the point right now though, I just wanted to let everyone know in case they hadn't seen it yet my new trailer for The Subtle Knife has been up for a few weeks now. Thanks for all your comments so far! Every one of them is greatly appreciated. I thought I'd let you know that I've been working on another Subtle Knife trailer that should be up in a day or two. I think I've done a much better job with the audio editing and working it smoothly with the music. That's all I'll say for now though, and I hope you enjoy!!!

@godofwar6511 i read the books and watched movies of course my family wouldn't get get me the book because of the word daemon (i know right that religious) but luckily my dead grandmother (died when i was in 3rd grade miss you grandma ;-;)  had two of the books the golden compass and the subtle knife oh yea and the first three books of the harry potter series (she died before the rest of the books could be made and she would've loved them to)

@mcrfan198 Of course its not a real trailer, therefore the only footage available is from the first film. There is no official trailer, as there is no second film.

Made me wish there was sequel. Remember the movie did not end as the book did. Producers wanted an uplifting ending. So Lyra turning over Roger to Asriel would have to open Subtle Knife unlike the book where roger is used to crack open the portal to the other world

None of this pertains to the second book.

It starts out mainly focusing on will.

The worlds already open in the first one.

In The Subtle Knife, will and Lyra meat and obtain the knife.

This is one fakeass trailer.

I hope there is a sequel though. I loved this series.
