Angelus De La Luna - A Mewtwo Tribute

Hello everyone - I hope you are doing well this evening. My name is Abby, otherwise known as Elegia-The-Absol (Deviantart) or WiseAbsol (Fanfiction.net), and this is my first video tribute piece to Mewtwo: Angelus de la Luna or Angel of the Moon.

To warn you all, this is not an action video as many other Mewtwo AMVs seem to be it is a softer, slower work, more concerning emotion than battles and explosions (fun as those are, proving Mewtwo to be a badass is somewhat pointless . . . because really, who could argue that he isn't?). It is not, however, a romance video, though the song itself (Gabriel by Lamb) is; so although Mew clips are used during the lyrics of endearment, please understand that this is not meant to be a yaoi piece. Instead, this AMV is supposed to show Mewtwo's initial feelings of being a false creature, unlike Mew, who he regards as a true, living entity. By the end, he realizes this is not the case . . . and the rest, I'm certain, you can decipher for yourself.

As for general notes, this video was made within a week using Windows Movie Maker (suffice to say I now have a newfound appreciation for my predecessors in AMV making . . . ) which, of course, loves to lag and freeze and be naughty in general, but is simple enough for me to manage. I did not use any effects, mainly because I've seen what overusing them does to a video (namely, you can't tell whats going on), and limited the amount of transitions employed. Despite this, I rather like how it came out - I daresay I managed to edit it decently, and matched the clips with fair accuracy.

Of course, just when I was at the highest point of giddiness, ASH had to pop into a clip and ruin the flow for me . . . yet I went back and bashed him out of the scene, so no longer should there be any misplaced bits in this AMV. Yeah, there are a few points I'm not fond of, mainly the screenshot I had to add to extend the clip where Mewtwo is staring into the sunset - but in general, I'm content. My personal favorite parts: the faint echoing of the lyrics when Mew flies over the mountains (the first time), and the ending shots of Mewtwo before the credits.

Hmm . . . what else? Oh, the footage is from "Mewtwo Strikes Back," "Mewtwo Returns," "Mewtwo's Origins," and the "Jirachi: Wish Maker" opening (last clip). Pokémon belongs to Nintendo, the Pokemon Company, Creatures, GAME FREAK, TV Tokyo, ShoPro, Jr. Kikaku, Shogakukan Production Co, Ltd., Satoshi Tajiri, and Ken Sugimori, NOT ME. This video has been created merely for enjoyment, not for monetary profit.

Anyhow, I think I've rambled thoroughly enough. Thanks to the gang for their help and support, and again, I hope you all enjoy my first AMV!

So beautiful. I'm on a real MewTwo kick right now, so I'm looking for videos about him. Much different than other vids, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I loved it. In fact, it's inspired me to make one... yes, I think I'll do that. I wish I had a broader collection of clips, though. You get a definite 5/5 from me.

(By the way, I'm reading your story with Kirya, and I love it. I'm not done, but-- since I do this for a lot of people, could I make a video about that fic for you?)

Awesome, I can't wait. Yeah, WMM doesn't give a whole lot of options... although, some of the effects are really cool. Yeah, I think I'm just about to start Chapter 10. LULZ I'm way behind all your other readers... but to be FAIR, I just started about two days ago.

No problem. I love making videos, and I have nothing else to do with my time, and your story is probably the best MewTwo/OC I've seen. I'm writing one... maybe it'll be up soon. ^-^;
