@Drummrr Dan makes Barker look like Beiber -- when Beiber was 1 year old. If you are not familiar with Dave King of The Bad Plus, check him out (look up Flim, Semi-Simple Variations, and The Rite of Spring). They are both possibly the best drummer in the world.

Now, THAT is an expressive video and 3 musicians who are giving us blessings every time they play. I believe these guys are playing at Cornelia Street on Jan. 10 if I am not mistaken. WOW.

It's nice to see a coherent, well told story on great music .. as opposed to a flaccid if not numbing story on good music and musicians (see "Rehearsal Space: Ratatat").

I dip in to watch this viddy yet again - I can watch this story be told, retold .. repeat. Dan Weiss escalates the drums to unknown form, but this isn't really about drums, as much as physics is about telescopes. This is a story that goes from tabula rasa to Timshel, it's about growth, evolution and execution. As articulate as it is romantic, as human as neophyte or ninja.
A great story on excellent music; Timshel is undoubtedly one of my top albums in 2010.
