I agree with Ricksterj65, "Original Sin" was a truly wonderful album when it came out in 1989; it cost a fortune to make and it bombed spectacularly. Ready for rediscovery methinks.....

YES! This is the original and the BEST version. So what that it was originally written for Meat Loaf? Pandora's Box got to it first and this stomps on his version any day of the week!

this video was flat out banned in south africa in 1989/90 - i can sorta see why...still, the banning didn't hurt it from becoming one of the top radio tunes of 1990

This music video is so kinky that it makes me blush in all of my special places! :)

And in mho too heartbreaking video and vocal delivery

I remember seeing this video on The James Whale Video Show one friday night / Sat morning. The video was rated as X by the censors, so it didn't get any more tv promotion and it failed to sell in the record shops. I bought the vinyl LP and still have it... It's a true Steinman classic, no matter who sings it. However Celine Dion makes me want to puke. She murders every song that she covers. This is the original and in my opinion, the best.

Pandora's is the most rocky, Celine's is the most ballad/romantic, Meat Loaf's is the most epic. IMO

Another one Jims Epics.
By far the best version IMHO.
He calls his songs his Children and is very protective of them.

Remember this was recorded and broadcast around twenty years ago. Production and broadcast facilities have improved immeasurably since then so newer versions will sound better. Original Sin as a CD remains one of my favourites and few of the tracks have been recorded better than the original artists.

This version is much better, but the quality on this vid kills it, I have the original CD of this and it is excellent!!!!

Nah man, Meat Loaf owns this shit easily. Niggerfaggot.

Mate u need yout ears checked lol nar i reackon Meat loaf kills this verison and celine is no were neare any of them

This song/ video was released around October 1989. The Ken Russell video was filmed at Pinewood Studios, and I think it was banned from regular TV, hence this late night screening on the James Whale Show. Great version of this song though.
