  • Its not that the chlorine ion doesn't produce an emission spectrum, its that the energy released isn't in the visible spectrum. The wavelengths aren't between 700 and 400 nm. As a result it doesn't change the color of the flame.

  • can u obtain these metals from around the house? like NaCl is commenly found as salt. do u know any other common metal anions?
