Is the dummy supposed to be this wobbly?

I will post a very simple question: How helpful can a practice with a wooden dummy be for street fight? What r the benefits of practicing any techniques on an still target for a fighter?
-
Bruce Lee practiced this art from Yip/IP Man. It is a very effective tried and true art.

@haochen111 well, i've learned wing chun but inever fought with someone, but all i can say is that wing chun is a good kung fu style in a close position between your opponent. Another thing I have to add is that, all style kung fu are good, it all depends on if you are good at it or not.

wauw nice its a chinese teacher who shows it not just someone who put a video to show off to his friends

@haochen111 Can I suggest a change in your thinking? It's not the fighting system so much as it's the particular teacher and student. All the old arts and many of the new ones are plenty effective. If you want effectiveness, find a good teacher and really dedicate yourself to practice.

Can anyone whos has fought in real life using wingchun tell me if wingchun really works against a potential attack? I am eager to know this.

This is the best dummy performance and it is consistent with wooden dummy techniques as done by the late (great) Ip Man.
