This is a little video I made for my final University exam! It's just a support video, it's not that good, anyway it's about what happen to Oklahomans and Arkansasmen during the mid-30s, when they were forced to leave their lands/homes because of Banks speculations and Dust Bowl. They went to California and there they faced an unespected situations: people and children condemned to starvation because of great owners greed for profit.
Inspired by amazing novel by John STEINBECK's THE GRAPES OF WRATH. Soundtrack by Pink, Dear Mr President (Instrumental Version). Hope you like it!
Pictures are by Dorothea Lange and Arthur Rotstein. (****credit FSA****)

  • I was hoping this was going to be a good song from the band, not boring old pictures related to some American book. You did that for university? I didn't know you could get away with stuff like that in the U.S.

  • @BayviewFinch

    sorry.. i don't understand your point.. :(

Yes it was a work I made for my graduation at the Uni, but i'm from Italy.

  • massynippon, don't pay any attention to Bayview's comment! This is a lovely video. It captures the soul of those hard times beautifully!

  • So sad

  • Central banks inflated Stock market bubble which burst in 1929 ,

something very similar happened in 2008.

Hard times are AHEAD. Goverment can not do anything about , but create inflation which will hirt economy even more.

  • @massynippon - The Grapes of Wrath were a band that had a bunch of hits in the 80's. I was hoping your video was going to be one of their songs.

  • My parents and in-laws grew up and came of age in the Great Depression. My mother was the daughter of a dirt poor farmer in E. Arkansas. She said they never had anything before 1929, so after it hit they did not notice much difference. They were like pioneers in a way, growing and raising their food and making whatever they needed. All of the people I ever knew who lived through that era would waste nothing and many said what goes around comes around. It looks that a way to me. Great video!

  • A very poignant story my friends.

Looks as if history is repeating itself.

    Thank you for the film
