  • @christhemountain Matt wrote a piece for the Chortle website last month, saying that after this gig a woman came up to him saying she was offended by the joke. I meant that I could see why people expressed offense given the way he phrased the line (to be clear, I'm not saying I myself am offended, I'm saying that it's not surprising that the phrasing of the line increased the likelihood of people "deciding" to be offended). Take a look at the article - it's called "Racist? Me?"

  • @BaubleRob How come they all laugh so much throughout the set then?

  • As soon as he says "This is going to sound really cruel" he's lost them. They're preparing to feel offended after that. It's like saying "if you laugh at this, you're being cruel", and they don't like it.

  • Not racist in the slightest - the woman in vienna lacks a sense of humour.
