Google SketchUp Tips - Interact Tool

Google SketchUp's Interact Tool lets you explore and experience Dynamic Components within your kitchen designs.

While working on a project such as this one -- The Rivoli Kitchen, featured in KraftMaid's Ideas and Inspiration collection on the Google 3D Warehouse, make sure that your Dynamic Components Toolbar is visible.

Then, take the Interact tool, and hover over different objects in the model. When the cursor switches from a no symbol, to a yellow starburst, that's a clear indication that you've landed on a Dynamic Component with interactive features.

Different components respond differently to the Interact Tool. This model includes KraftMaid cabinetry dynamic components with cabinet doors and drawers that are configured to open on the first click and close the second. These clickable interactions allow you to virtually evalute and detect potential clearance or collision issues and take look inside your cabinets to explore various storage solutions.

You'll also find other types of interactive Dynamic Components in the model such as this Brizo Potfiller Kitchen Faucet, and this Dacor Dishwasher, which offers multiple levels of interaction.

The Interact Tool provides a fun and intuitive way to virtually engage your design ideas. Just remember, when you see that yellow starburst, try clicking on different components to see what happens.
