I'd get together with other JETs and try to have a dinner with Thanksgiving items, but turkey is hard to find in the inaka, and many apartments don't have ovens, so it's hard to bake or cook large things. But JETs are from everywhere, and only Canadians and Americans really celebrate Thanksgiving, so it was never a big deal except for my first year. You're at work that day anyway, so you soon forget that it's a special day.

Im in beginning japanese! I can try to say, "Yesterday was my birthday".
Kouen, watashi no tanjoubi ga dewa arimashita.
Correct me if I'm wrong! Also, your videos are so helpful and help me to understand the language better. I always learn something new!
