Manfred Mann was never the singer in the band. The original singer was Chris Thompson who passed away a few years ago.

I'm going to sound dumb for asking this, but I like the music and I'm curious. I can't help but notice that isn't Manfred Mann singing (at least I really don't think so - Mann is the guy with the hat, right?). My question is, who is that colored fellow singing, and why get him to do it instead of Mann? Was Mann too tired to sing, or were they going for something different? I like both the studio version (Mann singing?) AND this guy, and I'm just curious.

Springsteen is a genius,he is very much talented as a songwriter,singer and musican.Mann does only cover songs by him and other songwriters

This guy is a very good singer, but I feel his voice a little too smooth for this song.
