When you've been told you only got three months to live, does it matter if he went back to drinking.. Hell if it happens to me, I will take on drinking like it was an Olmpic fucking sport. He didn't handle it with warm acceptance, he was scared shitless. Read the book "I'll sleep when I'm dead, The dirty life and times of Warren Zevon" He stayed stoned as much as possible, and I don't blame him one bit. My dad died of lung cancer, its not pretty not one damn bit.

I worked with Hospice for years and the worse cancer I saw was lung cancer. It is a terrible death. Every breath is miserable and your lungs are full of liquid it can't get rid of. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm sorry Warren had to die like that.

Mesothelioma is a killer, I just had a malignant mass removed from my lower lung. I feel close to Warren and his music. Although his was probably from asbestos, smoking didn't help and probably contributed to it. Once you get symptoms its usually to late and lung surgery is a bitch. My advice is don't smoke! Cigarettes are killing to many good people.

was a fan for 25years. this guy was not only a great talent, but showed amzing style, strength  and i think unselfishness. he gave us all a final gift before he left us

I attended my first concert at the small Cat's Cradle, Carrboro, North Carolina.

The best concert ever.

A year or so later I attended one in Winston-Salem, and he was so drunk, he walked off the stage mid concert, and didn't come back.

Our genius savant who loved and still love.

Warren Zevon is the only celebrity that still makes me heartsick when I think of his passing.

What consoles me is when I wander onto a Warren Zevon You Tube site and realize how many others feel the same.
