  • Dan Greenburg built the model

I designed, animated, did surface treatments and lighting.

It broke the system and had to be rendered at the manufacturer's facility using R&D equipment. Even with that, it took about two weeks, 24 hrs/day to render.

My iMac would probably do it in real time and let me move lights and pieces interactively.

Thanks for posting this! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  • This was created over about a six month period, modeled and animated at Pace Video Center in Portland, Or., rendered at the Philips Digital Video Systems manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Ut. I think it was 1988 - I don't remember the exact year.

Every polygon had to be defined in XYZ space:

    PNT A (50 250 175)

    PNT B (-50 250 175)

    PNT C (-50 -250 175)

    FACE (A B C)

We could use elementary loops and trig functions, no higher math, no advanced programming.

  • My girl friend said her body was in the best shape when she used and owned a SOLOFLEX
