I shot this at the LA Forum on Feb. 3rd 1975.
Silent Super 8mm digitized and synced with audio from Providence RI March 6th 75..
I tried to be as accurate as possible.
Hope you enjoy it!

PS. I share credit for this film with someone who remains to this day, a very fine friend, Dorothea, who wore a long skirt to this concert.
Under it we had taped an 8mm camera to her thigh!! Thanks again dearie!

  • I was at THIS actual concert and also shot super 8mm film. How funny is that. It was a great show. I just recently found the concert program from this night and the War Child tour. It is in perfect condition. Now i need to go to my folks house and look for the film so i can transfer it and post it, although mine was silent. I didn't have the money for a sound 8mm camera back then !!! Ha Ha

  • This footage was silent also, until I dubbed in and synced the sound. Let me know if I can help you with that. ;-)

  • I had to look again.

Just so amazing on the picture quality.

It looks like its filmed with a new digital camera.

    Once again, Excellent job here!

You should do this to all of your 8mm stuff, sync it, and upload it.

    Thanks again! Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Thank You. I projected this onto a white Illustration board and shot it with a 3 year old "prosumer" 3CCD Sony S Digital Camera that does really well in low light. The Sony z1u HD camera needs alot of light and doesn't capture a lot of the soft halftones. I ran the projector at very slow motion and sped it up in the computer. Thats why you see some flicker.Scanned film comes back Friday. Thanks again and keep up the hard work, I see your being featured on booTULLegs!

  • Great upload Darin! Awesome video.

  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES, I WAS AT THE PROVIDENCE SHOW, NICE TO HEAR IT AGAIN, AND NICE TO SEE THE VIDEO FROM THE SHOW YOU WERE AT. THANKS

  • God I wish I'd seen them in the mid-70s! I saw the TAAB tour, then missed out till 1978. 72-76 were their best years on record and live from what I've seen.

  • seen this show in madison square garden that year, great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Should be locked in a vault, in a museum somewhere safe near the arctic circle, safe for future generations....

  • Thanks whoever you are. I saw this very tour, about two months earlier, in HersheyPark Arena, Pennsylvania. They kicked royal English band butt !!

The back up band was Carmen and Tull stole that band's bass player, who later died in the late 1970s. John Glascock... I think I have my facts straight on this. Anyway, I saw Tull about 12 or 13 times and...WOW... To the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ... please pucker your lips and kiss Ian's ass and mine, simultaneously

  • Wow.Best footage i've seen from the Warchild Tour bar none.Even a glimpse a few times of the string section,Ian playing sax on Warchild,Jeffrey's stand up Zebra Bass,Mrs Anderson giving Ian his jacket.Excellent .Saw Tull on this tour at MSG.Landmark concert.Tull definitely at their top form. Thanks for uploading.

  • Awesome Darin...thanks for sharing..Charlie

  • Was there... Thanks so much. Great memories of a fantastic band both live and on record.

  • I went to that concert and it was awesome Allthough the cam taped to the thigh was not the best. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for those memories Any one that that was not there at that time would never understand just how great Tull was. Thanks again for those memories.
