One of the greatest James Brown performances ever captured on film! He dances throughout the entire song, unlike other performances from that time on TV talk shows where he barely dances at all. He was really ON here! I love how he has the band go into 'I Don't Want Nobody To Give Me Nothing' from 1:27 to 1:47!

@PaulDA2000 Absolutely agree! This was the "Popcorn" with "extree" butter and salt! One of the few times Brown is performing live without the microphone stand. Plus the fact that he is working on a small platform makes this performance even more remarkable. The segue into "I Don't Want Nobody..." and back was wicked. Too, the one-on-one between Brown and Maceo Parker from 3:48 to the end is breathtaking. The synchronism is razor sharp.

I love this video. James was just as fine with his natural and that goatee under his lip. He is truly "The Hardest Working Man In Show Business". Somebody bring me my hot pants and super sheer white pantyhose and pantent leather boots and don't forget my halter top!!! Thanks for this posting, it sure brought back memories.

He was such a well loved artist. There are lots of videos that fans have uploaded to the net and I hope to see some of them. This performance was truly incredible. Thanks for uploading this...

He does quite a few James Brown dance moves, too.

I didn't know he used 2 drummers.. Looks like they traded off on songs, because it must've been hard work at those tempo's. Cool metal mouthpieces on those bari saxes; (Berg Larsen and Lawton). I played in a couple of soul bands in the late 60's on tenor and alto saxes. We played a lot of James Brown and I got to solo on tenor all the time.
