was listening to a far away fm radio station at 3am monday morning in my cabin loft in malibu and they played this song. that was around '69 or '70. knocked me out so i went the next day and got all three of tom's albums. what a treat. "closing time", "the heart of saturday night", and "Nighthawks at the Diner". All three are gems. Still moved by this fine song.

it's all good, my friend. sorry if i over reacted, and acted like an idiot with regards to the personal insult. it just bothers me that someone with no talent can be so successful, while a genius like waits is a relative unknown. i've been around long enough to know that quality and quantity rarely go hand in hand. at least folks like us know quality when we hear it. peace.
