Prof. Fraser discusses Race in Australia

Transcript: First part of the ACA interview with Prof. Fraser

Ray Martin: And now to the senior academic whose has gone public with the controversial issue of immigration, Andrew Fraser is associate professor of law at Sydney’s Macquarie University. He claims that bringing in black immigrants from Africa is a sure fire recipe for crime and violence and other social problems in Australia. He says that Asian immigration directly threatens ordinary Australians and their children. Macquarie University has issued a statement deploring racism but defending Professor Fraser’s right to express his opinions. Professor, Thanks for your time Drew Fraser: Thank you. Ray: Is the white Australia policy, is that what you want back? Drew: Well I think it is a bit late to bring it back, I think it was a mistake to abolish it. I think we ought to, try to, minimise the cost of having done away with what was basically a good idea. Ray: The White Australia policy was a good idea? Ok who do you want to keep out? The headline says Keep Them Out, who do you want to keep out? Drew: It seems to me the basic goal of any immigration policy, if immigrants you must have, is to get people who are basically of the same ethnic stock of the people who are already present. Ray: So Black Africans, or Asians… No? Drew: I would say no, Yes Ray: What is a typical Australian in your eyes? Drew: It is the sun bronzed, blonde, blue eyed Aussie. That is what brought me down here. That is what, I would say, brought many people down here, the belief that what was really attractive about Australia, was that it was populated by Australians. Ray: It is 20 million of us. Except that we’re not all blonde and blue eyed, we’re all colours. Drew: I would suggest, if Australia turned into a country of 35 million people who are majority non white, it would be a much less attractive destination for migrants. Ray: That is not going to happen. Where you live, and where we all live, is a multicultural society. We get on fine with each other. Why would you raise the spectre of crime? Drew: It is not a matter of getting on fine, I would say that it is a matter of mutual indifference. Every time I go to Westfield Parramatta, well first of all, what I do notice there is the complete absence, well virtually of white Australians. What I do see is this polyglot mix of people who have nothing in common whatever, except the shopping experience. Do you want your Grandchildren to be part of an ethnic minority? Sub Saharan Africans have an average IQ of 70-75, that is a fact. Ray: That is Adolf Hitler stuff. It’s just rubbish Drew: No it is not Ray: Why would you raise this racist line? Drew: It is not racist, what it is racial realism. Could it possibly be the reason why blacks in Africa and elsewhere are notoriously unsuccessful is because they are cognitively challenged, compared to other more … more ….uh… other groups. Ray: The same thing was said about Irish, and they were said about Italians, and they were said about Greeks, and they were said about the Vietnamese when the boat people came out, and they’ve been said forever about Aborigines, and it doesn’t happen. When they come here we actually work. Drew: If you went to Cabramatta you would have to conclude, wouldn’t you that the Vietnamese are less integrated, less assimilated into the Australian community. Ray: Professor like your university I respect your right to your opinion, I just disagree. Drew: Thank you Ray: Thanks for your time. Drew: Fun to do battle with you.

@phantomsuccour I don't use the variations to support a racial superiority. I used them to illustrate humans are not all equal, and that we have different qualities, and are more at risk to certain diseases, as well as immune to others.

Fraser has presented thought provoking ideas in his book, but dismissing him on a personal notion does not warrant his ideas stupid. We don't ridicule Socrates despite the fact he believed women deserved no political rights. should we condemn socrates too?

@phantomsuccour you've presupposed my beliefs and produced an ad hominem before even understanding my stance on the issue. well done. If you like to know I grew up in Malaysia. My first girlfriend was half english-chinese, I've dated a polish with part jewish ancestry. I never believe one race is superior. The research I mentioned has could from Stanford, Harvard, Trinity College, and UCL. I also doubt upper cleft palates are a superior trait, it's more that limited genes leads to health issues.

@NikitaOneill ACA are right to make a mockery out of him. he is clearly a racist. he believes in racial superiority of whites and you think the majority of progressive minded people will not condemn him every step of the way? I'm absolutely proud that the majority of people in the worl have woken up and realised we have to be vigilant against characters the like of Fraser because all they do is lead us into a more dangerous world. No, keep your race superiority science to yourself!

@NikitaOneill The fact that you use those few variations to support the ideology of racial superiority proves you are sympathetic to that cause. And does that make you and Fraser any different from the nazis? You might not want a 'final solution', but that's the only direction racial superiority ideology has ever taken humanity towards. Once you believe some are better than others you can justify one injustice and once you can do that, you are on a slippery slope.

@phantomsuccour Granted he does talk about SSA genetics, however what genetics is discovering is there are differences among groups, the homozygous KIBRA allele is a trait commonly found in scandinavian countries. However communities in North England are more at risk to Psoriasis, and scandinavian countries can get cleft palate and lips. The point is we aren't all equal when we're born.

However ACA agenda really does make a mockery out of Fraser, and the reporter does not seem to understand.

@phantomsuccour There are differences between nazi's, racialists, and then there's people like Fraser. Nazi's were nordicists, and bent on eugenics to try and make a more pure race. Racialists and eugenics go hand in hand but to a lesser extent on the nordicism. As for Fraser, while he does recognise different races with different capabilities his writings do not endorse any eugenic agenda, although he promotes a bioculture which is what you do not concur with.
