On the 15th of November 2007 at Tiefa (Diaobingshan) N.E. China, SY 1772 departs with an empty coal train, it had just shunted the Power Station. Tangshan built SY 1772 was built around October 1999.

  • @DC4916 Thanks for your comments. Yes it's listed in the Industrial Locomotive book on Chinese engines as built 10/1999. From memory i think it may even carry a 2000 date on the builders plate, but don't hold me to that. Some say it entered service in the year 2000. SY 1772 is believed to be the last standard gauge steam engine in the world built for commercial work. As for 2011 videos, i've posted a number of steam clips from March this year (2011). Thanks.

  • October 1999? Are you sure??? Try 1989. Good to see steam in everyday use. Keep the videos coming, and hope to see some stuff from 2011 if you have any. :-)
