Instructors Nate DeMarse and Andrew Brassard conduct a full-speed demonstration with training tips on an inward opening door with an angle iron present.
Many instructors teach to spend time shearing the angle iron off prior to forcing the door. We teach using the angle iron to our advantage to provide extra leverage on the locks to force the door. Whichever technique that you use, practice with it, and always have a back-up plan.
This technique works very well on doors with multiple locks.
Any reason you wouldn't use a rabbit tool to open the door, or at least get a big gap before finishing with the haligan?

A good tip is,to get in the habit of putting your shoulder to the door. It's easier to push the Halligan away from the door than to pull on it. And too if there is a wall there you won't be able to stand there anyway. You can do it both ways. But in my experience it's makes it easier to stand with my shoulder to the door.
