The book on Palomino:
19-1-3 when he fought for and won the welter title in 76. Defended his title 7 times with 5 Kos until losing his title to Benitez in 79.
This was a damn good fighter who entered this fight with an 8-1 record in title fights. Duran dominated him and retired him.

Palomino said he was surprised how strong Duran was in the fight. Durans fight in the clinch was/is unsurpassed.
